6-a-side Football
At Kingscliff District Football Club, we offer 6-a-side football for all three of our divisions: junior, senior and women’s.
6-a-side football differs from normal football in a number of ways, but the main difference is that each team consists of 8 players, 6 on the pitch (including the goalkeeper) and two substitutes. If a team has only 6 players nominated, we will place individuals into the team who can play during the match.

Understanding the Rules
During 6-a-side matches, teams have an unlimited number of rolling substitutions. However, players must leave and enter the field from behind their own goal line. Each half lasts 17.5 minutes and there is a 2-minute half time, with the two teams switching ends during the interval.
Each half of the game will start with a kick-off from the centre spot. Captains will be asked to toss a coin to decide who kicks off and which end each team starts at. After a goal is scored, the game will be restarted by the opposing team from the centre spot.
